Quote from: official site
Gordon Greer has today agreed terms to join Swindon Town and will complete a permanent move to The County Ground on 1st July.

Doncaster Rovers last week announced that they would be releasing the 28-year old and Town have moved quickly to secure the services of the defender.

Greer made a big impact during a 19-game loan spell during the second half of the 2008/09 campaign.

His performances helped Swindon to secure League One safety and Greer's performances did not go unnoticed by Town supporters or management, with Greer Captaining the side during the latter stages of his term.

Greer was in Swindon on Tuesday to agree terms of a two-year deal and he will officially become a Town player on 1st July.

Town's first move after the signing was to get in touch with Gary Stanley through one of his friends to let him know.

Absolutely brilliant news. This guy is exactly the type of player we need if we want to get anywhere near the play-offs next season, like Wilson wants. A real leader and will most certainly be made permanent captain now. Top, top player.

I'm glad he's signed and hasn't seen as a step too far down the ladder.

We seem to have got the nack for signing decent loan players. If only we could land Kanu on the cheap Wink

Playing regularly, probably as captain.  It a good Greer move for him.
