Just seen today's Adver, looks as if Smithy's on his way to City :crying: Sounds like a case of us not being able to match a decent offer.

This was always likely to happen.....certainly King ballsed up big style here.

I'm surprised though that having said he'd keep Howard if Smith went,  then promptly loses both.....making himself look even more stupid quite unnecessariiy.

If we lose Smith it is a major setback as he is the first goalscoring midfielder we've had in a while.  It is difficult to blame him for leaving after being treated poorly by King (should have had a proper run in the team long before the second half of this season) but going to City is a real kick in the teeth.

Fuck Smith. He can fuck off with the rest of them who don't want to be here. I have faith in King to replace him.

I never thought he would stay unfortunately so it does not really come as any surprise.  Bit of a bitch he may go to City though.

I can't blame him really, he's probably been offered less money than he earns with his current contract and this is after he's proved himself to be a vital part of the first team.

Which will mean less people through the turnstiles initially, causing a panic in the boardroom as they receive less revenue, resulting in more knee-jerk reactions, such as ticket increases, selling a couple more players, offering even worse contracts next year (all reactive, none proactive!) and with it our chances of promotion
