Ford do MOT's on all vehicle makes for 39 quid.  For the sake of 39 quid, its not worth the risk
Yeah, but it's not the cost of the test, it's the cost of the fixes you need to get it thru the test. Erm, although it's still not worth the risk of driving uninsured without MOT etc. Drive legal or not at all

Well my car's booked in there for it's MOT next week. Fred said he had his done in there and they were pretty good and only gave him an advisory notice when more stricter places would've failed him.

the car either passes or fails.there shouldn't be any middle ground.they may advise something but it should have no bearing on an mot pass-fail

Strange this thread should appear, i discovered my MOT ran out 2 weeks ago and had similar questions. I can't be arsed to make the time to sort it out at the moment because i'm a twat. It'll pass, but it's just the whole sorting it out and dropping it off palarva.

HiQ, 25 quid if getting the cheapest deal is your bag.

Not often I agree with old lumpy, but on this occasion I do.....

First of all, check your MOT status on the website quoted by other posters.  If you do not have one, book one immediately.  You say you can't afford an MOT - you can't afford to drive a car without one.  Without sounding like a Govt information broadcast, it could save your life.  And mine, if I'm driving anywhere near you.

Tell me about it, I got hit for £800 of repairs to pass the MOT last time round. I couldn't really risk not getting them done either seeing as it was the brakes that were shot to pieces.

Some years ago I managed to go about 9 months without an MOT or tax disc and never got caught, which was obviously a really, really stupid thing to do. Eventually I got a warning letter and fine notice, I got the MOT and a back dated tax disc from the Post Office and that was the end of it.
