I'm a big fan of Philip Seymour Hoffman's work. His Paul Thomas Anderson collaborations were particularly brilliant. Then you've got Lebowski, Capote, Moneyball and his small yet great role as Lester Bangs in Almost Famous.

He also did some greatly depressing stuff like 'Happiness' and 'Synecdoche, New York'.

Ultimately, Hoffman did a great job making amends for appearing in Twister! Farewell.

Brilliant actor.  All the more shocking, somehow, because he had the looks & gravitas of someone a fair bit older than 46 years old.  I was genuinely surprised to hear he was so young.  That's no age at all.  Very sad.

He was a loose cannon, man.

Luckily, I doubt his legacy will be the 'wacky one in Twister'.

I genuinely don't think I have seen a film with this fella in it.

I suspect I am in the minority!
