was talking to a friend about the song and he pointed out what bono's words where in the song
"WELL TONIGHT THANK GOD ITS THEM INSTEAD OF YOU" Huh?

anyone got any idea what he means by that

 Bono didn't write the song...it was Geldof and Ure.

 Never been quite sure if Midge Ure was related to Ian Ure, but I've always liked to think so after Ure's cock up in the LC final

 I do think Ian Ure looked a lot like Glenn Gregory of Heaven 17, apart from being in black and white.  I suspect Gregory favours Wensleydale cheese.

The song, no. Though it did raise awareness. The sentiment and continuing pressure did see a lot of 3rd world debt wiped off.

Still no solution though. And situations like that in Zimbabwe don't help, though that's a different issue.
