I do think Ian Ure looked a lot like Glenn Gregory of Heaven 17, apart from being in black and white. I suspect Gregory favours Wensleydale cheese.

The song, no. Though it did raise awareness. The sentiment and continuing pressure did see a lot of 3rd world debt wiped off. Still no solution though. And situations like that in Zimbabwe don't help, though that's a different issue.
