There was definitely a game against Derby at the Baseball Ground in the early nineties that was shown on Central. I think it ended 2-2 and Shaun Taylor got at least one of ours. That last game of the season wasn't shown though.
It would have to be about then, we haven't played Derby too often. Some meetings in teh early 60's and then about 3 seasons worth in the 90's....aside from the LC 69 we've got a ropey old record. There's never been a 2-2 draw!

You're right. It was a 2-1 defeat at the Baseball Ground in our promotion season. Taylor got our one. On the subject of obscure early Sky games, I think there was a midweek ZDS (or some such) Cup tie against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge broadcast by the then embryonic media titan.

Argue as much as you want Batch - debate is healthy and I'm not 100% sure.
OK then, In 1989 Sky launched with Sky Channel, Eurosport, Sky Movies and Sky News. BSB and their funky squarial only had 3 channels and launched later. I wasn't aware of any cable TV tests before that launch and I am pretty sure Sky had no football coverage until the early-mid 90's. I can't believe I am arguing over which channel a game in 1988 was on!

Sky had the Conference from the get go, I seem to remember, and as I've mentioned above some of the Noddy Cups of the day as well.

1990 (Lost 1-0, ZDS) 1991 (Lost 1-0, ZDS, V.Jones 90) www.swindon-town-fc.co.uk is great. I reckon it's Reg as a web page. 1990 - Sky Sports launched, though they may have used the Sky Channel before that.

I've got most of these games on DVD.... for Wolves, I have three at the start of the 96/97 season - the two league cup games, and the league match on the 27th Sept.
If we get a definitive list, I'll add it to the site for future reference!

Did Swindon Town never appear on BSB then? That launched slightly before Sky didn't it?
edit - sky launched before BSB, but BSB had a Sports Channel, which may have showed low profile matches? Not sure.

Both games in the LC were covered. The home game saw OOOh Shaun Taylor shove Steve Bull out of play his last act as far as Town was concerned . He was sold to City. Mark Walters was MOM in both games and received a mountain bike for each of them.
But I guess that doesn't answer where the missing Wolves game is, as you got both LC games already!
We played them away in the LC in 2000-2001 ish, it would have been the league cup then...the game went to extra time.

Was that the nil nil draw with Reading when three players were sent off ?

We were, on a Sunday afternoon iirc, Alan Young played, we lost 3-0 I think? Could be wrong though.

Yeah, we got battered, Ruddock ended up kicking Earnshaw 3 feet in the air everytime he got near the ball. Their fans were mad that day as well.
Anyone mentioned Cardiff 1996 FA Cup?
Reg, Im pretty sure the WHU game was at the end of the 1992/93 season on some ITV regions, just before the play offs. Think West Ham were going for the title, but we were assured of the play offs.
