One of his saves in the first half was sublime.... However, how many chances does he get?

So 2 howlers then? Does anything ever change? I actually feel a bit sorry for Malpas. He was obviiusly getting things right but as a manager what can you do when your team blows such a good lead in front of your own eyes?

He is a keeper who has let two shots straight through his hands.
You will not find a single post where I have given the team stick this season. Im saying get Brez back in NOW thats all

Im in two minds. Brez wasnt good enough and got dropped. Smith hasnt been good enough either.
Is chopping and changing keepers in the long term worse than sticking with one?
Goal keepers I find get better the more they play. Carlo Cudicini was one of the best keepers in the Premiership when he was Chelsea's first choice. Cech came in and Cudicini hasnt looked the same keeper the odd game hes played.
Part of me thinks that might be happening to our keepers if we keep swapping them after every 4 games.
Smith has made as many, if not more mistakes than Brez so only fair that Smith is now dropped but I really do think Malpas needs to pick a number 1 and stick with him.

brez before malpas was the better keeper, both had injury issues but being a keeper you have to have confidence and with the back four never settled it makes it much harder. when wise brought in brez he used to catch crosses off strikers heads then half way through last season when he came back byrne was constantly telling him to punch the crosses away, catching the ball was how brez broke his arm as he fell awkwardly maybe they,re scared it might happen again. No clean sheets this season= the coaching staff haven,t got a clue.

What about the Goal at Milton Keynes. That was Smiths fault as well. It's only the fact that we got a 90th min Penalty that saved him. As for making a great save, well guess what he's a goalkeeper and that's his job. And just how many howlers did it take for Brezovan to get dropped, Smith's on three and counting.

Brez had a couple of shaky performances, including that goal against Col U.

Mr Fitton has dug deep, to give us a club to support....he's already said his group wont throw money at this project...our fans need to realise, the downside of having decent owners, is that they wont go out and get a Dennis Wise style coaching set up, or even a Sturrock set up....namely employing people you can't afford to pay. I'm sure AF, is keen on getting in the egg chasers as that will generate a bit of revenue, and a run in the JPT would help. Hereford now becomes a massive game.

Agreed....Leeds in the final would generate some much needed dough! Ime just happy that Cox is staying fit,god knows ware we would be without him this season,Paynter works hard but just dosnt score enough...we need a leader on the pitch but alas a good one is going to cost money.
