I had bolied egg with soldiers,managed to get some yolk as well,which is rare as i usually over cook them  Sadly as i grew up in the 80's i'm scared to death of getting salmonella  |

Incidently, in my quest for understanding why Americans seem to have so many different ways to serve an egg, i decided to find out what eggs Benedict are. It's a poached egg, served on an English Muffin, with bacon (although traditionally it's supposed to be ham) topped with a nice dollop of hollandaise sauce. It's sounds quite sexy.
I wonder if Pumbaa or Sonic can tell us/me more about Americans and their love of eggs or am i just imagining this love of eggs?

I don't think it's just a yank thing as everybody likes their eggs. The Thai's have all sorts of wonderfull eggy concoctions on offer and they whip up some mean omlettes. Something a bit odd happened with this body of mine though and now whenever I eat even a little egg I end up doubled over in pain with stomach cramps. Sometimes I'd kill for an egg mayonnaise sandwich.  |

Sunny side up, over easy etc etc. I think they just like eggs Bazza, I don't really have any socially groundbreaking insight to this so called fascination tbh. Sorry. Frankly its simple. A fresh poached egg is the way to go. We get our eggs fresh from a local farmer, 75p for half a dozen and they are the best eggs I've ever tasted. Supermarket eggs are utter shit and a rip-off IMO. |

Eggs are ace, and I probably eat far too many.
Soft buttery scrambled eggs on a nice english muffin for me.
Or maybe a poached egg with mushrooms.
Or maybe a fried egg, bacon and fried bread sandwich.
get a tin of soup, heat it up, poach an egg in it, serve that with a pork pie sausage roll.
