i dont like the way the russians wer fainting at the smallest ammount of contact, its fucking ridiculous, pavylchenko (sp?) looked like he'd been shot twice in ten seconds, the ref did fuck all. IF ITS NOT A FREE KICK, ITS OBVIOUSLY SIMULATION, CARD THE FUCKER!

to be honest james, the refs throughout this tourny have been shocking, giving fouls for the smallest of contacts, basicly being encouraged by the players of crowd, russa played very well, holland looked average.

Cunts, never mind! Lost my bet

Fair play to the ref for changing his mind on teh sending off etc, takes a big man to do that

You'd expect Holland to go through but you just never know. Tbh my tip of Germany winning before the tournament is actually coming to the boil now  Sad

Well done on tipping the pre-tournament favourites!

So far this has been a really good tournament. Lots of goals, lots of good football, and lots of shock results.

Hopefully France's demise will see the end of the "Makelele-type" player. That man has single-handedly ruined modern football.

The holding midfielder, has been around , since Nobby Stiles back in 66.

If you want to blame soimeone blame Alf Ramsey,  who did away with conventional wing men.

It sparked a trend for converting full backs into midfielders.....fellas who could tackle,  pass short  and generally defend.

STFC had Joe Butler....in 68/69 we didn't concede too many goals.

None of the group winners have won so far, so it looks ominous for Spain !!!

Nah, David Villa needs to score a few more yet for my bet to be safe...for him at least, I need the Germans to win the lot as well.

Arshavin was immense last night. Also well done to Lubos Michel for overturning the Red Card off Plodin.
