Same as Dorcan. People can't get mortgages.

I think with the price of fuel rising rapidy that is hitting people, and then you have the people that are coming out of fixed term mortgages having to sort that out and realising how much more they will have to pay.

Then you add in that the cost of food & energy (gas / elec) has risen dramtically, you can really see some young couples struggling.

And don't forgot the 10p tax rate as well that will hit some low paid people as well.

It all seems to come at once.

I'm, lucky in a sense that myself and the mrs have ended up with half decent pay rises this year (her's through promotion) so that is going to help us out with the added cost's, but I'm sure a lot of ordinary folk will start to feel the pinch within the next 6 months.

I'm hoping *touch wood* that my move onto the property ladder was timed pretty well.

I got my fixed rate just before they went sky high, I've had a few payrises since which has bascially meant my pay's just kept up with the high increases in fuel and food bills and now my fixed rate is up next March when the mortgage market should have settled down again. Looking around currently, I'd still be able to get a similar deal to what I'm on now (about £10 a month extra).

Here you go. Have a picture of Jesus with no neck that I drew a long time ago.

His legs are also a bit odd.

Cheer you up?

Make sure he's had a recent Tetanus jab if you're going to be nailing him to anything.
