It's being reported that Holmes has been released from Southampton I'd definitely snap him up on a free providing his wages were not too steep. Think we were paying most if not all of them when he was on loan here at Swindon.

Depends what others were willing to pay to a large extent. Maybe a few teams prepared to pay £2m but only 1 would double that. And I would expect that deal would include bonuses for fulfilling his expected potential (even if not as extreme as you suggested). |
