Would be a fantastic marquee signing of a new regime. No chance we get him under the current restrictions, and with our rep in the game at the moment.

With BB's injury record, he might not have much of a choice.

Apparently it is being suggested on the Gas forum that Rovers have made him an offer.

I reckon he might have a chance of doing slightly better than a L2 basket case incapable of paying competitive wages.

I would imagine if it comes down to us or Gas he will go there.

They have made a fair few signings already, I have no idea how good any of them are though in reality. But they seem to think they are all way too good for L2.

Nick Anderton, Mark Hughes (surely hes past it now Wink ), Paul Coutts and Sam Finley.

They were saying the same things before last season and ended up 5 points below probably one of the worst teams I’ve seen for a long time.

And a manager who is probably going to be banged up during the season.

by most accounts of the court case it seems he ran into the tunnel and pushed the bloke over and he injured himself in the fall. outside of football you would never hear of it, maybe his previous will go against him.

Its still technically assault thought isn't it? As you say ordinarily something like that results in a small slap on the wrist, maybe a fine/damages paid. As it's Barton and he has a violent past, perhaps this might go against him and a small custodial sentence would be administered?
