I’m not sure where I read this, but someone posted that our max wage is £2k per week. That’s got to be bollocks cos even if the 3 amigos were on that it’s ‘only’ £300,000 per year which, by my reckoning, means our total budget is ‘only’ £1.2m per year which is way out - if indeed they do account for 25% of our budget.

Definitely more 80% bollocks than 25% football.

On top of that list you also have McGlip and the three transfer listed, all of whom could still be used in a match day squad.  You also have Romanski, who has been in our squad over the past two seasons, and even a starter.

If we still have two more to come, I think that more than satisfies the requirements to cover a match day squad!  In fact, you could almost field a second string in the old Combination league without using a first team starter from the weekend before.

*Until they start breaking. The Wellens model of signing players who'd be above this level if they were reliably fit depends on plenty of available alternatives. See how deep our squad looks in November.

I liked his explanation of that - how they've looked at the causes of the injuries when considering the risk.  Was it impact? was it caused by playing too many games in a short spell etc.  They should have the information to manage the risk - I hope!!  The flip side is paying double the wages to get the same type of player without the injury record I guess.

Yep, it's the gamble you take if you want to play attractive football on poor man's wages. Could go either way.

Lyden’s injury at Villa was a complete freak accident. The way he puts himself about I’d be more worried about suspensions!

He's calling it a 'goer'...more than a possibility...if he knows what he's talking about. Seems to have some idea...

Wellens said he spoke to Lang but that he ruled him out, maybe there has been a development in talks as Saturday looms closer.

I was told there would be another signings tomorrow or Thursday by someone who works at the club earlier, but that Wellens keeps his cards close to his chest.
