Fly Luton to Knock, Seacat is a no no as in rough sea's you'll chunder and so will everyone around you. It depends where you are going in Ireland as to whether you should get the ferry or not. If you are going up west and you are only going for 3 days it takes about 4 hours to get to fishguard, then it takes 6 hours to get up west when you get off the ferry!
If going for 3 days, fly.

If going for 3 days, fly. no need to go to luton anymore birdy to get to knock.from last november you can now go from bristol.shannon is another airport option in the west. you were right though, as it was luton or gatwick only into knock until recently.

I spent a bit of a summer in Mayo in the early 80's....bird I knew, her parents had a small holding near Croagh Patrick....I estimated at that time it was about 25 years behind the rest of teh British Isles. Is it still like that?

It's a bit nearer modern times now Reg, it's only really developed in the last 5 years though!

I've heard the view of Clew Bay is second to none up there!

I've done Croagh Patrick! Its a bit surreal up there. Bush Boy I'm not out. Not allowed to drink, so wouldn't be much fun.
