when i download torrents i always see games on the sites for Wii and PS3 which i have, is it just a case on downloading these games and copy then to cd then they work on my console?

Modchip on the wii I think. You'll need something to dump the image onto the HD in the case of the PS3. Don't ask me how it all works, I gave up buying consoles a long time ago

A chip that modifies the computer's software so it lets you play copied cames AKA a modchip.
I haven't done it since the days of PS1 mind, so I can't shed any further light into it now.

Some sort of warranty invalidating moddage. Which isn't as simple as it was back in the old PSone days.
What with firmware / software OS upgrades happening if you ever want to use it on tinternet, I'd imagine the whole thing could be a bit risky. I know Microsoft will ban you from XBox live if they catch you playing dodgy copy's of stuff.
You can probably do google searches which will have better answers than me.
