An antiseptic mouthwash might help....the most potent available at a chemist (without scrip) is Corsodyl. If you use it for any length of time though it stains your teeth.

Try Colgate Poroxyl. The missus used to get ulcers really badly, the Poroxyl stuff got rid of them and has stopped them coming back for over a month now.
