What are the people like? They say they're really friendly but you never can be too careful......... The further away from Dublin you get, the nicer they are. Thats not to say the locals in Dublin aren't friendly because generally they are. Try and find a local village pub out in Co Mayo, and get yourself to a Craic. We went to one with the owners of a B&B we stayed at. Lock in until 0500. Messy...

Well....what can I say?!
Dublin is expensive. Very expensive. A lot of foreigners, temple bar is a bit dodgy. Guiness is ok.
Mayo on the otherhand is much nicer. 2 Euro's a pint cannot be bad! Pubs officially are supposed to shut at half 11, but were still serving at gone 3 on a tuesday night. Went to horse racing. That was ace. Mrs decided to stand on a wasp at 3 in the morning, the nearest hospital was 40 mins away.
Would never go to Dublin again, but Mayo is such a friendly county. Only disappointing thing was not being able to find a football shirt because the sports shops had mainly liverpool, celtic and sunderland shirts... :?

The reason Guiness tastes better in Dublin is because they don't put any preservatives in it. All the Guiness that is brewed in Ireland only has a shelf life of about 4 weeks, but it doesn't matter because they drink it so fast. All the Guiness that is exported has preservatives so that it lasts longer.
PS, those 3 guys dressed in green with orange beards are not Irish. They are American!

You obviously didn't look in Elvery's in either Westport or Castlebar for a Mayo shirt did you?! My Dad came back with one lest week. Your mullet must have been in your eyes.

There were loads of Gaelic football shirts but no 'soccer' shirts... That is because they mainly only play Gaelic football you Spaz, the smaller towns have soccer teams but they don't have shirt franchises
