Most home owners should have buildings and contents insurance? I thought it was required by mortgage companies? Buildings insurance is compulsory when you take out the mortgage, you could cancel it at a later date. So surely its their own fault for cancelling it?! |

Might cause offence but on teh news this morning, these people are moaning about they cannot move in as the place has damaged wallpaper and rubbish all over floors. Why cant they get some black bags put some effort in and clean the place, it will then be liveable.! Thats the spirit ash....you tell em.... I |

The point is they'll use it as an excuse to raise tax prices... Increased Spending on Flood Defences around the country is something which needs to happen. As is discouraging developers from building houses on flood plains - which will have a cost on the economy. There's many places that the money could be reassigned from elsewhere but if not, call it an excuse / reason to raise taxes. As of £14mil of aid to people who've been affected. Using that as an excuse to raise taxes is absurd. It's such a nothing amount of money on the scale that the government spends. |
