Los Gatos, Tapos bar on Wood Street, other side of the road from McKenzies and the Old Bank. Opposite the Wine Shop.

My dad got made redundant, went into the property make over business for a year, then got bored and decided to open a Tapas bar.

It's doing pretty well, but it's pretty small. I cook a lot of the stuff anyway. But I'll be in charge of the kitchen at times now (I presume), which will be ace.

I'm going to wander round and have a chat with my dad tomorrow. Looking forward to it.

book a table on a weekday night before thursday. Weekends get mental and you won't get a table, unless you wait and get put on the table list. That can be sketchy at times as well. Mainly due to the waitresses giving table to the people they think will tip the most. There is supposed to be an official table waiting list at weekends though and I think it's going to be more inforced soon.

Tis top Tapas in there - although I went to La asita on tuesday and it was 'tapas night' in there - pleasantly surprised.

Yeah I'm working Friday night. I'll be sure to hide in the kitchen more than normal. If they have any Croquetas which aren't cheese ones then order them and leave one, that way when the plates come back out I can eat it.

Don't worry about buying me a beer, I can steal them for free.

Can't book on Fridays or Saturdays, because it's only a small place their aren't enough tables and booking means they have to be empty a long time before. You might have to sit at the bar for half an hour but the bar staff are friendly and are supposed to keep some sort of table waiting list going. You can eat at the bar if you want. Lot's of people do that.

Just turn up. There's a good atmosphere and it's a good laugh

Oooh... they do Oysters on Fridays. That'll impress her.
