I'd say your LAN isn't set up properly. Check the instructions for how to get into the router setup via your browser and then have a fiddle with the settings.

That's deffo not right. As you say you've got 8 meg so I'd expect it to be around 7.5ish.

Try this little program - it's quite useful

Open the program, Go to 'Window' and then 'Health Log'. It'll tell you if you've got problems and what to do about them.
