I'm glad Williams has got the temporary job, and im also glad Tuttle is staying on. I was worried we'd have no one to train the team, seeing as it seemed Tuttle was leaving along with Wise and Poyet

http://www.gazetteandherald.co.uk/sport/stfc/display.var.984350.0.williams_given_caretaker_role.phpWilliams given caretaker role Exclusive By Gazette Sport Reporter
Swindon Town captain Ady Williams will be announced as the club's caretaker manager this afternoon following the departure of Dennis Wise to Leeds United, the Gazette understands.
Williams, who has been skipper since joining in the summer from Coventry City, was given the nod this afternoon after head of youth David Tuttle turned the role down. The club issued a statement this afternoon to quash rumours that he has left the club.
Wise, who is due to watch his new side in their Carling Cup tie against Southend tonight, made an emotional visit to the Swindon training ground at Wanborough this morning to say a personal goodbye to the players and staff.
He told the players: "You owe it to yourselves to keep on playing as you have and I have no doubt that you deserve to go up.'' He apologised to them for leaving after only three months in charge but said the Elland Road job was too big a challenge to turn down. continued...
He spoke to the players as a group and then chatted privately to several of the squad when they made their own farewells.
Defender Williams, 35, joined the club with Wise.
He has made 12 appearances this term.
The former Welsh international has also played for Reading and Wolves.
Williams has been told he could be in the running for the job full time if results go his way. Interesting...

God love Ady Williams but what a fuck up when you have no backroom staff willing to stay on and work as caretaker. I would guess Tuttle's experience at Millwall made him realise he was not cut to be a manager which is fair enough. He's done us a favour by turning it down. Williams looks like management material to me. It's just the way he conducts himself on the pitch and in interviews. I think he will command the respect of the players and, fingers cross, he will be able to steady the ship for the rest of the season and get us a top three finish. Beyond that, with Diamond Mike and his Firm in charge, God knows what's lying in wait for STFC.

As much as I would back him on Saturday there is NO WAY that he is ready to be a manager of a club ... now that really would be a cheap option!!! Typical of this board tho - wheres the ambition guys?

Well I'm glad Bart and Fatberry are "in the know" and have let us all know that he's not good enough and it's a cheap option.
I was worried we might all get behind the club and find something to smile about.
I'm just glad Barty and Fatbury have told us to stop being open minded and accept that it's all shit, early doors. God forbid we go through the season and we do well, fuck that, lets hope it's all gonna go down the fucking pan.
Cunts, what happened to someone having a fair crack and all that jazz.

Tuttle has gone up in my estimate.....can't have been easy to turn it down, but I sense its the right decision...couple of draws and the job would have been his.
Williams talks well.....seems like an intelligent man, but the same applied to Iffy.
Working with Newbury, must be like having two arms tied behind your back to start with.

So..... Who does Williams know who he could bring in as a new player/assistant manager? Someone from the Welsh set-up?
Anyway - good for him to step up to the plate - We're all behind you Ade! Granted most people are behind you with hidden knives ready to stab you in the back the moment you fall, but at least we're behind you.
