Surprised by this. I thought he would end up at a Man U or somewhere like that. With all respect to Villa I can't see them doing much.

the bit i cant understand is i know oniel didnt take the england job as his wife was very i'll so he was away for x months. why o why did he take a job with villa  nowing weather or not he will have a job by the end of the week or season. if ellis throws his toys out again he will be looking for another manager by this time next week. anyway good luck martin and prove that doorknob ellis wrong..

Taken charge too late to bring in any of his own players for the new season, he's stuck with O'Leary's signings.

He'll make his impact next season after another midtable anonimity season for Villa...

Don't rate o'neill as highly as everyone else. fair play he did ok at leicester but Celtic isn't exactly a hard job is it? and he's always had money to spend.

He didn't take the England job because he wasn't offered it.

As for the Celtic job, getting an SPL side to a European Final is a tremendous achievement.

He'll be at Villa Park for 2 years and then take the helm at Old Trafford.
