My mum got given a gas bbq as a present the other day. Now I'm a charcoal man myself but I have to admit it is easier just turning it on instead of fucking around for ages. Although anything which involves a gas canister and a potentially drunk ben could easily result in a) fire, b) mega fire, or c) drunken terrorist attacks.
Anyhoo I decided to create some lamb kebab style things. I'm afraid the ingredients haven't got proper quantities cos I sort of just made it up from something similar I'd seen ages ago.
Some sort of cut of Lamb which is easy to hack up into bits (think you can buy diced lamb if your a lazy fucker, better if it's some with a nice fatty edge)
red onion.
mint
coriander
crushed coriander (dunno if this was really nescasary, meh)
olive oil
a lime
natural yoghurt. (I used low fat but only becauase it was what was in the fridge)
I finely(ish) choped up a good bit of fresh mint and some (slightly less) fresh coriander. put it in a bowl and added some crushed coriander seeds. but in a bit of olive oil and a healthy amount of squeezed out lime juice and gave it a good stir. Chucked in a several good dollops (table spoon sized) of yoghurt and gave it more of a good stir.
Hacked up the lamb in to skewerable sized chunks. Chucked it into a big bowl and tipped in all the marinading goodness (the stuff you made before). Got my hands in there and mixed it all together, covered it and left it in the fridge for a few hours.
Removed the aforementioned marinated lamb mix from the fridge and skewered it up with some tasty bits of red onion.. oh yeah you even get a picture.. mega ace.
