Have you listened to Screamadelica Rich?

If you have and you still think Primal Scream are shit, I'm going to ask Simon to give you a Chinese burn :advercool:

this bit of the bbc website sums it up quite nicely

'Do you want to be watching Kylie? Well f*** you'. Bobby Gillespie is feeling antagonistic towards a somewhat bemused Glasto audience. Songs are halted because the crowd aren't dancing enough; bad language colours the air. But can you blame him? In 2003 they headlined the Other Stage to a totally rapturous crowd who had picked them over Radiohead. This year, they faced a Pyramid Stage crowd who were largely unaware that the band had recorded anything in the last ten years and were clearly just waiting for them to play "Loaded".

Opening with "Rise" then the ultra-violent "Accelerator", it was obvious that the Primals weren't really concerned about easing these newcomers in gently ('We're a rock band now and you're all f*****g hippies'). However, for those in the know, the band were as blistering as ever.

Few older tracks make it ("Jailbird", "Rocks" and "Moving On Up") but they only sound like cover versions by a different band anyway. Primal Scream are really only at home with their newer material and with that, they're hard to beat. Explosive versions of "Swastika Eyes" and "Kill All Hippies" (naturally included) manage to somehow blow the roof off an open air stage. Despite continuing to play until their power is cut off, they're unable to convert all the hippies - but you could never accuse them of not trying.

well taste it just that, taste. if hes discovered the majority of every important band in the last 20 years he must have discovered....the stone roses, the arctic monkeys, blur, franz ferdinand, hard-fi, the kaiser chiefs, the kooks, the las, the verve, the libertines?

pick at that list as you will(and im sure you will) There not all my personal favourites but they seem to me the bands over the past 20 years people have got excited about. fair play he manages the dirty pretty things but he didnt 'discover' them.

i dont recall anyone working up a sweat over the boo radleys do you? fair point about primal scream but there just not my cup of tea.

im probably one of the biggest oasis fans in swindon so im not slating the guy, im just stating that other than oasis i dont think hes ever 'discovered' anything fantastic.

People are allowed to have opinions without having other people jump down there neck you know, or are they not on this forum?

Of course you're not allowed opinions on this forum!  What a crazy idea.  Hang your head in shame, and agree with everyone.
