DW: They've been on a great run. When you look back at some of their previous scores, there's been a lot of high scoring games - goals scored, goals conceded. So believe it or not, I expect the same on Saturday. Phil (Brown) won't come here and not throw players forward. He'll be quite ruthless with the way he wants his team to play. A lot of forward balls, a lot of forward runs getting into our penalty box. They're quite strong on set plays, so I'm expecting a fast-flowing entertaining game, and a game certainly for the supporters to look forward to. Hopefully we'll get a good crowd. It's good when you're playing a local derby, because I'll call it a local derby. Swindon should bring a real good following and with the momentum that we've got and all our supporters going to Newport, everyone is talking about good things at the moment. To see Gabby Rogers at 17 years of age make his League debut, we're trying to improve the club in every area.

Even Colchester is better and they provide buses to help evacuate fans after the game.

He was my MoM today. Closely followed by Nelson for his bravery and Woolf did really well too, with Alzate the pick of the midfielders just about beating Anderson.

He does remind me of a daddy long legs, his legs go in all directions which makes his next move so hard to read for a defender marking him.

I think Swindon came to us to put the boot in, they were 3-1 whenever we got the ball, three themselves to the floor at the slightest touches and the ref bought it, we didn't deal with it and use it to our advantage. However we were poor, couldn't string two passes together and were slow to move the ball around

Thought Swindon took there 3 goals very well&could of been more if not for Baxter.

Bevis was awful, turning circle of an oil tanker and the delivery of a striking postman!!

Bevis was crap yea, but so were the rest of them, no leadership whatsoever, Swindon had done their homework closed down fast we never had any time on the ball. Fela’s pen, let’s not go there, if his head gets any bigger it will explode.

I tbink it is quite easy for oppositjon to work out how to play against us. Swindon defended deep so no space behind back four for our quick players to run into.

Ofellas should have had a 2nd chance at the penalty as 2 Swindon players almost tackled him as he took his shot.
Overall we were poor and didnt deserve a point.

The Glovers boss made reference to a pre-match interview by Robins midfielder Toumani Diagouraga where he had referenced Yeovil's run of minutes without conceding a goal, and the challenge to try to end that run of League Two games without conceding a goal.

That five-and-a-half game shut-out was finally broken in the 59th minute of this afternoon's match at Huish Park, leaving 573 minutes between their last goal the Glovers conceded, as Steven Alzate netted from range. That was quickly followed by strikes from Matthew Taylor and Elijah Adebayo to give the Wiltshire side a 0-3 victory. Way told BBC Somerset after the match he felt the opposition were faster to first and second balls, and admitted his side were not good enough on the day:

"We're really disappointed. We knew Swindon were going to come and try to make sure that they stopped our record. But he also hinted at a bit of complacency having crept in since last weekend's 6-0 victory over Newport County, saying that he had warned his team of that possibility:

CS: At 2-0 you had the penalty. Now you've had a bit of an issue with penalty takers. Of course Alex Fisher had the one saved and he wasn't on the pitch. Olomola the designated taker, but unfortunately he couldn't find the back of the net either.

DW: It's important that he keeps his head up. I think he's very disappointed in the dressing room. But players miss penalties and what I don't want, is I don't want it to become a habit. We've done great in the Checkatrade, and since everyone has been saying who is going to be the next penalty taker. They've been working on it all week in training. For him to practice, and then not get it right on the day is unfortunate. So I can't say he's not been practicing. Unfortunately he missed that one but I'm sure he will bounce back.

CS: No Gary Warren today. You haven't conceded a goal with Gary Warren on the pitch. He's missing today and you concede three. How much of a miss was he?

DW: Well he's a big miss, and quite clearly I don't want to put it all down to Gary Warren. I feel that it's a team thing when you defend, which is why I've not singled any defender out or goalkeeper out, because I think the whole team has done its job. Today he (Steven Alzate) gets a shot off from 45 yards and it flies in the back of the net, and that's not us. We have to take responsibility as a team. I don't want to put too much emphasis, because Gary was not playing, because I thought Enes Mahmutovic did well. We've just got to make sure that we regroup, and as I've said we've got to go for fourth now on Tuesday.

I don't remember anyone using the term "swindle" to insult us before about 10 years ago, not sure if it came from the Macari era or more recently? it was never a term Oxford or Bristol fans used pre internet forum days.

If they win their game in hand, they'll be a point shy of us.... not great but in the mix.

Many years ago just post the Macari era, my old boss was Wolves fan and he called us Swindle. Unsure, but if memory serves me right I thought it was due to ticket pricing. We were at home to Wolves and the price of travelling fan admission went through the roof as wolves always sold full allocation. The price was considerably more than what we paid for a ticket and much more than who we previously played at home the week before. So it was no difference to what premiership sides do now with game banding.
Like I said I could be totally wrong and it would not be the first time.

It is of course too early to tell.

Now according to some Flitcroft was a complete disaster of a gaffer, yet we were a point better off last year after 9 games, than this. Does that mean that Brown is even more of a disaster?  Of course not,  as .it's too early to tell.

Div 4 is a grind, coming up we've a very difficult looking game v Oldham.... a dour grind of a draw would be acceptable.

Think maybe now they can see what  Swindon fans said about him was not just sour grapes, We made the same mistake when Bury fans told us the same thing.    Basically he's a shit manager,  why anyone else would wish to employ him with his track record is beyond me.

The difference being, we had witnessed having our arse handed to us by both Barnet and Crawley and got a footballing lesson by Exeter- harbinger of things to come re Barnet and Crawley. Most fan’s opinions of Flitcroft was honed by watching one appalling home performance after another. The fact our away form was rather good wasn’t enough for most.

My stepdad is a Mansfield fan. I facetimed them earlier and his first response to me discussing Flitcroft was to give me the finger and say ‘you can have that useless fucker back’

Re. Dave Bamber - this game here against Oldham in 87/88 sums up the great man for me. Oldham had come to 'park the bus' years before Jose first uttered the words. The game was clearly heading for a 0-0 draw before a couple of moments of Bambi magic changed the game. There's actually not much of the game on there but the clip is utterly magical for those of us of 'a certain age'. A fantastically non-pc quote from Lou in there as well - "I'm supposed to have hit one of my players - which I did" Fabulous. Imagine the reaction these days from the 'Twitterazzi' et al...

Part of the reason Stigger was subbed was because he was still under the influence of alcohol that day, as he was on several occasions for Town, great player who if he stayed sober was the best player on the pitch.

He turned up for one game when I worked at the club barely able to walk as he stumbled out of his car after a lot of bevvies, he was told to go home by Macari and I had to order him a taxi to get home because he wanted to drive while still heavily inebriated and myself and other officials at the club wouldn't allow it.

Such a waste of great talent.

Here they failed to make any substitutions, which, as discussed at the time, is pretty odd for a team 1-0 up. Last night they only made 1 - and conceded another key late goal.

Tisdale is obviously a bit of an oddball. He had a big influence at Exeter, and rightly so. He therefore might have got away with these things. But I can see patience running thin at MK pretty quickly.

Danny Wilson's 09/10 side conceded late, meaning after 87 mins 6 times in 09/10, 5 of them being 89 or 90. Each time a winning position was spurned to end in a draw.  We finished 4 points off an auto slot.  V Sarfend we conceded 2 in he last 5, v Charlton added on time when they had 9 men.

Used to do my head in.... was it fitness  :hmmm: or as Ferret suggests use of subs. My feeling was it was the coach being conservative, rather than thinking we can see it out, perhaps better to go a bit gung ho, and play up the other end of the park looking for more goals

There are few more frustrating things for fans than a team which ships late goals.

I remember it being an issue under Wilson. Looking back, I suppose we had a really good team but not much of a squad. The subs just weren’t in the same category as the 11. Macklin for Charlie, or Hutchinson for Paynter, aren’t the sort of changes that were ever likely to be made for more than a few minutes here and there.

Never really recovered form the abuse sent his way from the Arkell's on debut.  Came on v Orient (08/09) at 0-1, about on hour in, and proceded to give a very nervy display of running into dead ends.  We needed points at the time as with a handful of games left we were very much in the relegation mix. At the time I thought even by the completely illogical standards of some of our fans this was OTT and uncalled for.

It's true, we always have an extreme view of them. We could carry on listing them both ways. Storey was at one end of the popularity scale, Pook at the other. Whereas they really both belonged in the middle somewhere.
