Steady performance.

Definitely improved after Carroll & Young went off.

Don't get people's problem with Carrick - he's been an important part of a United side who've been winning things. Good player.

He doesn't run around like a headless chicken, which is the pre-requisite for many fans.

I thought England improved when there were 2 of our former loanees on at the same time.

carrick isn't a good defensive player, or a particularly great offensive player. in my opinion he's effectively ballast, apart from today. well done him

Carrick isn't exactly dynamic on the world stage but must be doing something right to still be in Fergie's good books after all these years. He's not as bad as some people claim that's for sure.

Still like to remember him from his brief loan spell at our place. Was the best player on the pitch even when we got humbled at Maine Road.

Defoe can strike a ball. Should have played more minutes for England over the years.

The fact that the stadium was fucking empty and that this thread has reached a whole two pages says it all I think.

Didn't bother watching the game, only had half an eye on it in the pub so can't comment on the actual game...

Still a bigger crowd than what  Wales, Scotland and N. Ireland got.
