Sixteen years ago today, a struggling Town side travelled to a team playing in blue and white stripes and thumped them 5-2.....

Fjortoft's last goal for Swindon too.
I missed this game as I was playing for Warminster Boys that Sunday.
Typical.

Tomorrow's game sees Swindon and Brighton in exactly reversed positions as when the sides met in 1995/96... we were top of Division Two and Brighton were second from bottom, when two goals from Steve Finney and a Kevin Horlock volley gave the Town a 3-1 win.
Anyone else remember their full back shouting "Junior!!" in his poshest voice to Junior McDougald who was playing up front, and the Town fans taking the piss for the rest of the half??

I missed that one because I had to go to the The Great Dorset Steam Fair, again.
Thanks dad.

In April 1994, Wimbledon came to the County Ground, won 4-2, and with it hit the final nail into the Town's relegation coffin.
Will their bastard offspring hit another nail in tomorrow?

I remember Vinny Jones climbing on to a roof of a hut to get the ball.
We were powder puff in midfield and overwhelmed by most.

Two videos this week:
Exactly 20 years ago tomorrow, a struggling Swindon side faced Notts County at the CG:
In April 2000, Terry Brady offered to take over at STFC - but only if the Town moved to a new stadium:
