Was looking a while ago and you could get single tickets for £24 from Blackpool to Swindon on Sunday ahead of the Monday game. Left it too late so now it's £82.20 off peak return from Euston to Morecambe and a day trip only.

Was going, then saw the hotel prices for easter weekend for the family were practically the same as a week away at the end of August.

So now not going. Damn my tardyness in booking.

Spend it on season tickets instead Batch !

Walking to the game, first time been able to say that about a town game for 20 odd years!

I'm driving up on Friday morning for this and spending the night in Blackpool. If anyone is planning on doing similar I've got space for 2 or 3 in my car, PM me if anyone is interested.

Anyone with any advise as to what time to set off from Swindon? With it being bank holiday and all I can imagine the M6 will be pretty crap between Birmingham and Stoke. Does anyone know what time the coaches are leaving the CG?

My housemates from morecambe, he says it takes him about 4 hours to get back from bath. He also says Morecambe is a complete shit hole.

Flying into London tomorrow, I assume that it won't be a problem?

Heard on the radio today that loads of roads are closed and snow is causing havoc.

weather is fine, snow-wise. been up here for a few days with the family, as an excuse to see the game! But, it is damn cold and really windy! Popped down to Blackpool for a few hours, and it is even windier and colder there - everyone walking around with hats and gloves on! So, wrap up warm and don't plan on having a dip in the sea. but roads are perfect.

I hope this game is on as booked B&B and only have until tomorrow to cancel otherwise have to pay the full amount :(

As for venue for a pre match pint I am local and I have no suggestions, the ground is in a funny part of Morecambe away from the town centre.

Fans' Fun Day for Good Friday



Fans' Club and Morecambe FC are pleased to say that we will be having a Fans' Fun day this coming Friday 6th April. The theme for the day is Italian/Mafia Beach Party. Come in whatever makes you look like Paolo Di Canio, bring your flags, balloons and bring the noise. During the game Christie will be handing out Easter Eggs to the little ones and there will be the ever popular half time "Open the Box" as well as another go at the Crossbar Challenge. We will also be looking for the best "Paolo pushes over the ref" impersonation so get practising. After the game from around 6.30 or so (so you can still watch the Man of the Match presentation and talk about the game) we'll be holding a fun quiz (pound per person in each team) with cash prize. So if you think your general knowledge stacks up, your Shrimps trivia is tops or you know your music come along. After the quiz we'll be having a few tunes from a DJ as well as the kind of quality beers and food we've come to expect at the Globe Arena. The banter will be turned to maximum so come and join in the fun.

Reckon we can get 50 % of the attendance tomorrow ?

Was watching the Hairy Bikers the other day when they called at the Globe Arena. Apparently they employ a top chef who makes their pies and they have been voted the best in the football league. Bet they bake a few more when they hear I'll be there!

We've a terrible record against newly arrived from non-league sides on their own grounds, unless they're managed by Steve Evans...so Rushden and Diamonds, Dagenham and Redbridge, Macclesfield, Burton Albion, Cheltenham, Oxford, lost v the lot. In some cases this season, in others this season and a few others. A win would be a major surprise..

At first I though he was a mad hatter. But then I realised that he was constantly telling his subs how to do things if they got on. Showed a new perspective on the management game. Excellent.

In the first half he seemed to be giving a 5 min lecture on how to kick the ball he had his back towards the game and didn't watch any of it for a while as he talked to them.

I loved the way after every incident he would run back to the bench and get onto his assistant.

... why funny ? because he had his back to the action and wasnt even watching the incident at the time the whistle went as he was remonstrating with his own bench but re-acted totally to the noise of their fans !!

I thought it was hilarious yesterday with Paul Benson celebrating the winning goal with SuperTed and other assorted superheroes. The Town Fans after the game on the open top double decker bus made me laugh out loud and singing 'We're top of the bus, We are Swindon, We're top of the bus'.

I am sure there will be more amusing tales come out over the weekend

Well the football weren't pretty but we got a much needed 3 points and i had a great time ! Morecambe a bit run down though and quite a few places closed down so ended up going out in Lancaster which weren't much better to be fair.

Lancaster looks a tough old northern city. The sort of place where you don't take liberties.

I take it the old industrial buildings by the river are disused ?? They look about 120 years old.

If that was Newcastle, it would be luxury apartments by now. I guess there isn't a market for that! I've been to a lot worse places anyway. Scariest I can remember as a lorry drivers mate when I was a kid is Bolton. Absolute hole.
