Watched the first episode of Show me a Hero last night, made by the makers of The Wire, and you can so tell.  It has very much the same feel as the Wire..

Early days but I think it is going to be another winner.  First episode is very much about introducing the characters so I am expecting it to improve.

Think, The Wire, based in Yonkers, New York rather than Baltimore, but focused on the politicians rather than the police.

I loved the first series of The Wire! Still need to get round to watching the rest Grin

After absolutely loving Breaking Bad, just started Better Call Saul.

First episode promising. Good to see Mike and Tuco in it as well.

Better Call Saul is great.

I'm currently revisiting Breaking Bad, still incredible television on second viewing.

Better Call Saul was really good. Fancy giving BB a re-run too.

Currently obsessively watching Gotham before going back to work. Love it.

My husband loved this but ai just couldn't get into it? Is it set in modern times or the olden days??! I just don't get it?

I really enjoyed Gotham. The anachronisms of time period help build character I think - Gotham is a city being held back and always teetering on the brink of utter chaos. For characters to have mobiles and try act like film noire detectives really works. I just wished they would stop shoving later batman characters in front of us and pointing at them shouting "LOOK! LOOK WHO IT IS!"

The Joker entrance wasn't too bad. Ultimately, it's Gotham... where all the baddies live!

Anyone going to be watching the companion series to The Walking Dead? Inventively named; Fear The Walking Dead. If it's your kind of genre, it looks pretty good and they will not be doing character crossovers etc. It will be completely separate (other than the topic at hand, obviously)
