So an opener in the league at the CG is due any time then? Today seems like a good enough day for it. Obvious forewarning; how you start a match doesn't lead to how you finish one.

Too many imponderables to have a guess at three defined outcomes of W, L, D but not enough imponderables to forecast our position, points, goals, financial situation (and so on) come seasons end?  Hmmm

You never know... but you can get a feel for things based on circumstances, which is why for this game I've no idea.  Firstly we don't know the injury situation.... last Sat we were without at least 5, who a gaffer may wish to pick.  Some on here are implying these are tactical injuries..... lads who don't fancy it.  Personally I have my doubts, but this is STFC so could be possible.  Secondly, how will the players react to Wellens and Hunt coming in.... Matty Taylor obviously has a key role to play in this... was he considered for the job?  Did he want the job?

Wellens is already saying, after sitting down with Hunt, who remember is Power's boy, and Matty, that he needs an experienced head in to help. Good luck with that Rich.... perhaps you should have said no to Hunt.  Possibly, though he's trying to force Power's hand into his pocket.

Thirdly, how will the Sheridan/Wellens good buddy/mentor relationship impact on the game....they'll obviously know each others way of approaching the game?

Fourthly... will all of this change fuck with heads of the players.... I wouldn't have this season's struggles down to lack of effort, but rather lack of ability..... but I could be wrong, maybe Wellens will have a magic wand, and Keshi will suddenly go on a scoring run, Jermaine, after getting in the right positions, will stop miskicking then falling over. Perhaps Kyle will get an assist and Martin Smith go to the top of pass completion stats.

And speaking of squad head fucks... I'm assuming that LMc will be back in today.
That is an incredible amount of time & effort to avoid having to predict the outcome of a 4th Division football match. Listing the imponderables that every other supporter is faced with when guessing who they think will win. Try having a go before the event for once, let the shackles off, you might enjoy it!

At least people can't have the conspiracy that they'd fallen out with PB now.

Many have been calling for most of the "culpable three", old heads to be dropped. RW has done that in dropping Lancs and Richards. Taylor does work well in a more "winged" position, with protection. Does Iandolo fully give that? Not yet but if they play slightly more fixed, we do offer at least two able bodies down the left and we are strong going forward like that. Iandolo is almost playing a LB Sweeper to tidy up after Taylor. At least they can switch around if Taylor starts to blow a bit. That only works though when Iandolo gets back, of which he hasn't quite developed in his football brain yet.

Nice to see an attacking line up. Think we'll concede but it'll be a case of we can score more than you. Hence my earlier 4-2 prediction.

Only surprised that Knoyle is on the bench. Think he'll be itching to get on. I'm sure Twine would love 20mins also, to prove to RW he can do what he did in his last match. Score.

I'd say 3-5-2 changeable into 3-4-3 if Alzate pushes up.

I love that we can't even figure out the formation!  Poor old Reg and his imponderables has another one to contend with.

I wanted to think it was 3-5-2, but the more I think it could be a 4-4-2 with Woolfenden at right back.

There is nothing to support my optimisim today, but I'm going for a 3-1 win.

I'd be inclined to play Taylor forward.
