Lots of rumours they are on the verge of folding totally so not altogether unsurprising, shame, they are a nice little club.
Think they were, probably still are, just been taken over by a local consortium. This is one of the first acts of the new regime. It could be a lot lot worse though - there was one line-up bidding for them that apparently involved JedCo and his happy crew of definitely not asset-stripping muppets

There is a transfer fee involved as well apparently.

They did sell Jed Wallace for £250k

Can't see an aging has been like Roberts commanding much of a fee TBH.

Nah think you're right Pete. Suspect his wages will be pretty decent for this level though. Didn't he leave us for Chesterfield when he was still under one of Paolo's contracts? If so, I'm sure Chesterfield must be paying OK and to then leave them to go to Pompey.....well....

I remember reading somehwere he halved his wages going to chesterfield, which i guess was offset with a big fat sign on fee, same at pompey would be my guess. His mrs must be delighted, north-south-north-south every year or 2..

Yeah I am pretty sure he pretty much halved his wages, didn't his wife want him to move back North anyway when he was with us? she must be well chuffed Cheesy

If he did then fair play to the bloke. Could easily have sat it out here on a bumper contract. He's not a bad player, just didn't really work out for him here.

Didn't he win the league 2 player of the season when at Chesterfield?

He should still be able to tear apart a few teams in that league I would imagine

Nice touch by AW to leave us a lovely message on his departure

Never convinced Andy had the confidence required for a true striker.

He has had to be really adaptable in his period here and he's ended up in the benchmark area of a 20 goal a season striker.

We've got to be pleased with that return and I hope AW can now take this forward elsewhere for a season or two

What a breath of fresh air. Being a football fan would be far better if all players were as decent as that.

I'm not one for such goodbyes.

But in a summer where it can feel like everyone is jumping ship, it's good to see one acknowledge the fans....

.....I suppose.

Yes, I'm being dozy. I'm not sure if I missed it or am becoming more senior. Apologies
