Play like that for the remainder of the season and we've every chance of staying up. It's still in our hands.

There were a few flashes of Chris Kamara in Ince's performance. If he can get some Macari fitness levels he might make a difference.
Steve White also compared him to Kamara on the radio. If we could somehow manage to stay up and sign him we'd be taking a big step towards a better campaign next season. If we go down we need to be looking at someone with his qualities as a priority. A player like Ince is so important to enable your flair players the freedom to influence the game further up the pitch.

Would have loved to have Oldham's no. 24 in midfield in tandem with Rohan Ince.

A really decent first half performance. The only downside, obviously, was not getting the ball in the net.
Second half showed again why Williams is not up to it. Oldham's tactics changed - a simple case of pushing up 5-10 yards. Williams couldn't counter it, just like the Pox game, allowing Oldham to take the initiative.
Still, glad the players were given a good round of applause at the end. It was an acceptable effort.
I could understand Williams' decision to take Ince off, he genuinely thought he could easily have got a second yellow. However, it was the wrong decision. In the position we're in you just have to play your best players.
"Power sack the cunt" - shameful. Williams isn't a cunt, despite his best efforts he's just not a good enough manager.

The only good thing is this division is full of shite, looking at the games left a half decent Swindon side could get 6 wins and a few draws. The next 3 games are a 9 points must, today's game could be crucial the 2 points lost and 1 gained by Oldham might come back to bite our arse.If only we had a manager that could convey confidence not bore the shit out of people.

Embarassing that a 12year old is so knowledgable compared to the majority of our fans!
Isn't it more embarrassing that you agree with the 12 year old rather than the majority of fans who want Swindon to stay up? Sent from my SM-G935F

The most embarrassing thing in this, is not being able to tell the difference between 'thinking' we will go down and 'wanting' us to go down.

This has nothing to do with wanting us to stay up. Everyone on this forum wants us to stay up, I think we all know we must stay up otherwise risk having quite a few seasons in League 2 before we get the chance to play in League 1 again.

That's not an either or. The 12 year old in question desperately wants us to stay up.

As Leftside stated Williams just didn't react to the change in Oldham's tactics. First half they were happy for us to have the ball whilst they massed their 10 man defence, second half they pushed up on us much more and stopped us playing. Sadly our lack of fitness told in the end and once Brophy had been substituted (not really fit) we had no real outlet. Just need a bit more pace in midfield but that chance has passed us by. It was a good effort from the team, nobody can have gone home and said we didn't try - just missing a bit of quality.

Lots of comparisons have been made with previous relegation seasons.
Just had a look at the great escape season of 2000-01 where we finished with 52 points.
At this stage we are 6 points worse off having scored 5 fewer but conceded 3 less.
The 2001 side were in the middle of a run of one defeat in 12 which probably kept them up, as they only managed 8 points from the final 9 games.
So, we need to start putting a run together, but as with 2001 there is likely to be a reliance on someone else fucking it up as well.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change? Crap!

For us to stay up now will require something extraordinary. So in theory it is possible, but that Kingy side got the need to play Div 3 relegation style football and it was just enough. Certainly not pretty though. The current set up have thumbed their noses at the traditional route taken by Oldham, Bury, Shrews etc.it's either brave or stupid, and we'll soon find out. To survive from here though would be a major achievement.
