He may, of course, be watching someone from WBA’s side.
Archer has scored for Villa, Barry missed a sitter.

You would imagine that Villa will be happy to loan us someone else with how we have handled KKH, you would expect Garner has his eye on someone there

Garner watching Villa Under 23’s this evening
BC: Chances of KKH coming back? AV: None, sorry. BC: Oh ok. AV: Listen, we’re very, very happy with what you and particularly BG have done for the lad. Would you like to come on Monday, we have those Slags from WBA over and we think you’d like to take a look at xxxxx 😁 BC: On to BG now, passes at reception? AV: Yes of course, be our guests, dinner, a few cokes after, we’d like to discuss a few things with you 😁 BC: Top man, see you there.

…let’s also not overlook the fact he used to work for WBA when Pauli’s was there too…

Is this significant? Apologies in advance but the name means diddly Squat to me and possibly others too.

I think PV mentioned before that he is a huge Town fan (Season ticket holder I think) and was part of our academy structure historically before being signed by WBA. I know PV has linked him before on here and can probably fill you in better.

He played against us for the 23's in the Paint pot last season?, scored and generally bullied our defence all night - looked lively

I know we all think we need another ‘striker’ but Garner wouldn’t drop Simpson, he won’t play 2 straight strikers, can’t drop McKirdy and any club loaning us such a player would expect him to play.
Dilemma

As much as Garner won't drop Simpson I think we've got lucky as he's not had any injuries, niggles or suspensions which couldn't happen so we definitely need another striker if we're serious about gaining promotion. I agree McKirdy is hot at the moment but he does have spells where his form dips like earlier in the season plus he likes a booking or two so will miss games.

yes Jimmy. but the point is a club is going to be very reluctant to loan us a forward who isn't going to get much game time.
and we aren't going to buy one.
so it's either get lucky with a club in loan market, or a free agent of one exists. ...

Still leaves the problem that any PL club are unlikely to loan us a striker who is going to be back up or regularly rotated, see also Gilbert, A? Edit - Wot Batch said!
