A good day for some of our old strikers.

Goals for Cox (superb one at that), Connell and Clarke.

A hat trick for Austin.

I'll gloss over Jervis.

Ex- Swindon forwards who scored today:

Austin (3)
Cox
Henderson
Jervis (2)
Alexander (2)
Clarke

and to be honest the only players I would like to see in the Town shirt still is Cox (and possibly Austin and not even sure about him if rumours are correct!)

Bollox, missed Connell in that list and would still like him in the squad. That is due to my being in pub since 3-45pm!

 Bye

If we had Austin up front we'd absolutely piss this division and we'd have beaten the scum. Likeable or not, the guy knows how to put the ball away. I'm surprised no Prem team has taken him - he's done pretty well at Burnley.

Think Burnley was the right team for him to progress to. No undue pressure, plenty of chances to play. Shame it didn't happen the same way for Cox at WBA, but maybe he'll get his time now at Forest.

Back to off field Austin, just after his move I had his shagging around confirmed by the person who measured my son's feet in Clarks!  By the end of the measuring I knew Austin was the "crap boyfriend" of her friend and had cheated on her friend a few times...

Oh yeah, my son's feet hadn't grown.

Obviously not standing him in enough manure. Come on Batch, we have our West Country reputation to keep up.

On the Austin note, must be quite galling to break up with someone only to have their name constantly paraded in front of you by random strangers. Quite literally. But then again, you get involved with a footballer...

Wasn't he also a fan of the sherbert?

I would have Austin, Cox and Henderson back in the blink of an eyelid, even after how Austin left us, the man is the best finisher I have seen in a Swindon shirt in nearly 40 years of following the Town.

Etienne Esajas on trial with Chesterfield

Spireites take Esajas on trial

League 2, 11:05, September 17, 2012

Chesterfield have taken former Swindon Town winger Etienne Esajas on trial.

Esajas is currently without a club after his contract at Swindon was cancelled by mutual consent in May.
The 27-year-old, who was a regular for Sheffield Wednesday between 2007 and 2010, still had a year remaining at the County Ground but left in order to find first-team football after making just six league appearances in the 2011-12 season.
Esajas had trials at Charlton Athletic and then Scottish champions Rangers in 2010 but is now hoping for a successful trial at Chesterfield as he aims to secure a permanent contract with the League Two club.
The Spireites are also taking a closer look at former Crystal Palace winger Kieron Cadogan, who has joined on trial following his release from Selhurst Park.

Brilliant Austin rumours on here. He is still with the same girl he was with at the time, and they have just had a baby together. Born about 4 weeks ago.
