Fair to say he was over the moon with it. He said "Thank you so much" about 200 times and hugged me a few times, too. He did seem a bit blown away by it. Sam was nice enough to give me a shirt from the 93/94 season so I could get it signed. But the highlight for me was Jan asking where the banner was after the game so I pointed to the table where I chucked it in the Legends Lounge only for him to go and grab it to start dragging it out to the pitch announcing "Right, we're taking this outside to get a photo!" So I got to hold it up with him on the County Ground pitch and get some photos with him and it. Probably one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Much friendlier than M. Smith was after the game when he walked past... but he did just lose a game of footy so I can't blame him... Anyway, good job all round. The one downer is that nobody has even got a photo of it going across the crowd.

Great photo! Wanted to get there early to see Jan and get a picture for you of it in the crowd from the Arkells Jay, but spent 50 minutes in traffic at the bloody Bruce Street Bridges roadworks and only just made it in time for kick-off!

Nevermind! I'm just frustrated that nobody got a photo... not even any of the photographers.

Yes, a really good effort, JayBox.
OK. It's a shame if nobody got a photo of it being passed across the DRS but the most important thing is that the man himself got to see it (and met the man who produced it) and knows that people here remember him for all the right reasons.

Well done Jaybox. I think we are all grateful that you made the effort to give Jan Aage a memorable return to the CG as he has given us many great memories.
Let's hope we see the banner again - with a different result next time
