I've been having a think about this match over the weekend (well, during the periods I wasn't absolutely wasted at least..) and it looks like the perfect match for a slip-up to me.

I think we've had a good enough run now (W5 D6 L2 of last 13) for just the smallest amount of complacency to set in about our ability to get a result tomorrow night.
Gillingham have been awful away from home this Season but they got a great result in Swansea and have only lost 2 from their past 10 (including putting 3 goals past us).

Much like our team, we shouldn't be judging the likelyhood of 3 points on league position and on current form I think they'll be a difficult team to beat.

They didn't allow us to create many opportunities at their place and we still aren't converting as many chances as we should be.

Their players know their fans will be up for this match (even more so considering the events around the match in Gillingham) and I think they'll be playing at the top of their game to impress a reasonable away following.

All in all a potential upset on the cards in my opinion.

BrightonRed - Suprisingly pessimistic today.

Right to be cautious but I would argue that we created a good half dozen clearcut chances at Gillingham-Cureton missed two sitters CCP had a header well saved as did Fallon and Smith and Browney had decent chances

Complacency. if any of our lot feel like that I suggest a look at the league table to ensue reality.

Of course it will be a tough battle. What it comes  down to for me is how well they marshall Curo and Shakes. That said, Brown, Peacock and even Roberts are capable of compensating if they do.

Gills may have improved away from home. But we have only lost 2 in 13 too. We should not be afraid.

This is what I think will happen:

We will play really well against Gillingham and win 3-0. We will go shooting up the league and out of the relegation places. Everyone will be cock-a-hoop.

Then on Saturday, like a bunch of simpletons, the players will think "Oooooh, we're really good, we've got ourselves out of trouble - we're great. We only have to turn up to beat Rotherham 5-0".  Of course if that happens, we will lose.  We will get sucked back in to the relegation places and we will all go back to slashing our wrists again.

I hope I am wrong of course and that Iffy would ensure that sort of thing never happened. It would be typical of this club though if it did.

Damn you OST.  I was about to say we'll be alright against the Gills, it'll be against Rotherham we slip up, in front of all those friends of season ticket holders getting in for a fiver.

our players are on such a high confidence at the moment, that we may get a win. may get complacent at times, but look at the positives.

also, I hope our good form doesnt alert other teams into taking us much more seriously. I'd still rather teams think....blah its only Swindon near the bottom, we should win by at least 5

I'd quite happily settle for a point.  Going to be very tight, Gillingham are one of the sides that have put together a decent run and have pulled themselves out of the river of shit we're still paddling in.

Will be a massive result for us if we get the win and provided we don’t do an ‘OST’ I’d finally be happy to pull the cigar out, sit back and realize that we have definitely considerably improved for the better.

Swindon 2 – 2 Gillingham
Cock 26
Smith 41

Byfield 65
Pouton 86

Hopefully the speculation linking  Byfield to Millwall will stop him scoring against us for a change.

Saw him limping around Sainsbury's tonight, so I think it is unlikely. Sad

I think people are forgetting how much Smith will be up for this game.

With him going for it 110% and an in-form Migs we could be dangerous. Especially if they can draw attention away from Shakes who would then (hopefully) be able to link up with the cock
