talking about that bloke who laced his season ticket at McClaren... "He also promised there would be no ban for the fan who ran on to the pitch during the match before hurling his season ticket at manager McClaren after the fourth goal had been conceded.
"That man will get his season ticket back with no action taken because we understand that kind of passion," said Gibson. good man

Top man, though I bet the government/police will intervene...
I thought a pitch invasion meant an automatic ban and fine? Didn't think it was down to the discretion of the club?

As far I know it's up to the club... as a football groud is private property its up the owners rather than the plod.

It's a criminal offence to go on the playing area while a match is in progress. And they define the playing area as all the areas around the pitch as well. All Boro are saying is they won't ban him - whether the cops prosecute him and the courts then ban him is out of their hands

Surely giving him his season ticket back is the worst punishment possible

Fair play to Gibson!, that fan was ace. I liked the way MOTD blow it up out of proportion, "why was he allowed to get that far?, he could have been carrying an AK-47!" (ok they didnt say the last bit but they might aswell had).

This was one of the moments of the season for me. The contorted look of rage on the blokes face was comedy gold ( and I think we've all been there before )

He could still have shot McLaren from the stands, in fact, being further away he might have caused more carnage by having to get a full 6 rounds off before hitting the real target, and thus killing 5 real people as well! It's a good job he did that far if he had a gun!

Just Gary Lineker being a tit as usual.
Lucky he didn't have a ninja star, could have been deadly from that range, especially looking at way he wanged his season ticket, he had a good arm on him!

I guess Gibson thinks that returning his season ticket is a suitable punishment...

I guess Gibson thinks that returning his season ticket is a suitable punishment... I bet he's asked for Jail instead of having his season ticket returned.

Looks like he's probably going to get a ban anyway. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/tees/4713002.stmSo he's got his season ticket but just can't use it. Bet he's well chuffed.
