The concept of Zimbabwe playing international sport is awful, there is no way they should be involved in any sport whilst that mad man Muagbe is in charge of the country starving his own people.Fucking evil tyrant

i think that perhaps killing mugabe would be a better thing to happen than impose a ban on zimbabwean sportsmen playing out of their homeland.
however i think that just getting rid of mugabe would give zimbabwe an iraq "void" of power. sadly the world is fucked, and football is the only way to make this pitiful existence seem better.
football and porn anyways

Completely agree, banning sport will do very little to undermine the power of such leaders/dictators and can only damage the moral of the suffering population. I tend to think I'm fairly knowledgable on world politics but I know very little about Mugabe and Zimbabwe, it always seems to be that whenever anything makes the news their's an underlying assumption of Mugabe = Bad, Britain = good, without ever going into much detail.

I doubt the Zimbabwean people are very aware or bothered about the sporting prowess or otherwise of their country.Maybe a ban wouldn't achieve anything, but it least it wouldn't appear to legitamise Mugabe's rule,as invloving Zimbabwe in international tournaments seems to.

Look out for Eto's goal for Cameroon - amazing It's a bit of a shame that the Loony Roons wont be at the WC...but I guess Eto'o only has himself to be blame for not being prepared to take the last minute pen v Egypt.

Yeah hes a great player. But ive been watching most of the African Cup, and its been really disapointing. The quality is piss poor, and top players like Benni MCarthy from South Africa cant be arsed to play.
Yet when it comes to the world cup, all these top players give maximum effort, and one African team usually does well
