Always makes me laugh - every Saturday and most Fridays Dick Mackey is in the Kings in Old Town......

Not sure the lads shouldn't go out on a Saturday after a game in Town ?  Why not ??

It's not their fault Swindon is a small place and they will be spotted wherever they go.....

No harm in having the odd drink but it needs to be kept a lid on IMHO. Maybe currently a symptom of a youthful squad.

True they are young lads in the prime of life ,but the fact that two of the players mentioned have been in trouble due drink driving and they are still out in the Walkabout, you would have thought they'd keep their heads down.

Drinking ban! That's a laugh! How many people have turned up to work/uni/college hungover? I for one have done. At least they do it on a Saturday night as they have a day off the next day.

You arent paid stupid amounts of money a week to stay in decent physical shape

I'm in two minds, I used to slate Nicho, he used to be always out drinking away and last season couldnt get near the team. He looked like he didnt care about Swindon or even getting in the team, I thought that was down to his drinking however there was clearly a king falling out as he is in the team each week and is playing very well.

You aren't paid to go out on the lash the night before and not be able to mentally concentrate. Seriously just because it's Swindon people have rose tinted glasses. However, I would say there is a limit. Drink driving and violence shouldn't be accepted and heavy punishments should be enforced in such cases.

good luck to him. can't say i'm thrilled that one of our senior players has alcohol problems when so many of our players are seen out getting plastered so often. oh well.

so long as the players turn up sober and without a hangover on a saturday, i'm not too fussed.

mind you, i'd have difficulty holding my tongue if i saw them out on the lash after a home defeat/poor performance.

They are professional football players though, their bodies should be their temples Wink .
To be honest,i don't really have too much of a problem with them going out for a quiet pint after a game [so long as we've got a result that is],what i worry about is the trouble a group of boozed up,adrenalin filled group of footballers can get up too or be invovled in.

Ok so if your boss turned around and said to you don't go drinking on a Saturday night unless it's a quiet pint then what would you do?

if it started effecting your work/study then im sure a ultimatum would be given though surely.we are going down at this rate and if you think going out on the piss 3/4 nights is going to help then fair play but if i thought my job was on the line then fuck me i would sort myself out

Furry Muff then, Kudos to you. But there are many who would say the same thing but do it themselves

I think sitting at a desk with a hangover is a bit different to running around for 90 mins with one. Just my opinion.

Ah, but I dont work sundays. I guess the players dont either....but say I did go out and get drunk on a Saturday night, by the time I get to work on Monday all the after effects that could effect my job would be totally out the system.

The only lasting damage would be physical, which doesnt have anything to do with my job.
