He died 20 years ago this month. Was a big fan when I was younger, still like Thin Lizzy's stuff now.

I would not normally recommend stuff on Radio 2 but this could be worth a listen

THE PHIL LYNOTT STORY
Saturday 7 January
20:30-21:30
In this one hour retrospective, those closest to him remember Phil Lynott's work and life on the 20th anniversary of his passing. Phil Lynott, the heart and soul of Thin Lizzy, remains a unique Black / Irish rock icon who's influence continues to this day.

The most frightening thing for me apart from the fact I can't believe it was 20 years ago is I was 17 then, and 37 now, and he died when he was 36, he seemed so old back then! Now I am a year older than when he died.

Anyway, worth a listen and worth listening to some of their stuff as well if you get a chance.

I said Radio 2, not BBC2.

And it's not that I have anything against it, just very rairly listen to it, unless it's things like this.

i can't help but think of him in war of the worlds.

Didn't I warn them this would happen? Be on your guard, I said, for the Evil One never rests... I said exorcise the devil! But no, they wouldn't listen, the demons inside them grew and grew, until Satan gave his signal and destroyed the world we knew!

Bedford, I'm a year or so older than you and feel exactly the same. 'Sarah' is one of the most beautiful and haunting songs I have ever heard.
