Says in the Western Daily Pressthat Grant Smith has been told he can leave Brizzle Shitty.....
Also says that Iffy will NOT rule out a move for him........
I think a lot has been said negatively about him (money grabbing etc...) but I also think he had bad advice from his Dad and that OUR board (as usual) were too slow !
I would like to see him back - but I don't think it will be a popular suggestion...........

no!
i'd much rather see him rot at city. don't think he's the solution to our problems, however much we do lack goals. we need a strong combative midfielder not a flair player.

Come back Smithy all is forgiven, you only went there for the money, but wouldn't anyone??? If someone offered me three times the salary and three times the length of contract I'd go!!

If Grant Smith re-signs for Swindon I cannot wait to hear his first interview back at the club.

Sonic - bit shortsighted perhaps ?
As I remember he won a lot of balls in the middle of midfield - can also play out wide AND scored 10 goals from midfield in half a season.....
Sounds like just the sort of player we need.......
Although that first interview would be fucking funny !!

Not entirely convinced by Grunt's attitude.
He shot himself somewhat in the foot with all the ‘I want to stay comments’ and the protracted negotiations. Alright the board didn’t exactly excel themselves in the whole affair but if he’d have been as straight-up as say Heywood I could have given him some leeway.
He also looked like he’d been piling on the pork against City and without a defensively minded Duke alongside him I’m not convinced he would be half as effective as he was towards the end of last season.
One to miss I think.

Yeah I wouldn't necessarily call him a flair player. Quite a grinder and a class free kick on him, save us from watching Gurney's feeble attempts!!
Can't him him wanting to come back though, he'd be back on peanuts.

I'd have him back, but only on a short term/loan deal. He seemed to be good when he was looking for a new contract.

It was the manner in which he left. Him and Heywood were both right to leave, but only one of them showed any respect for the club and its fans in doing so. It wasn't Smith.

I'm in two minds over this. If he does come back they should at least put him in the stocks.

He only started playing when after a new contract
He said he wanted to stay, he didnt He said he wanted 2 years, we got rid of players so we could offer him 2 years, he didnt sign it
He's a cunt of the highest order, I'd personally like to see him rot at City.
Should have stayed with first team football, you money grabbing scabby cunt, now fuck to somewhere really shit like Halifax
