if teams are level on points is it goal difference that counts or the result when the teams played each other?

easiest way of settling a tie would be a playoff surely?

Can't really rely on goal difference, as some games were abandoned, making scoreline irrelevant

Although if Group 3 finishes a three way tie - it'll have to be done on goal difference

Mexico, England and Norway may have a three way tie, and each has beaten one of them and lost to one of them - so goal difference will count.

Right, it's finished a 3 way tie in Group 2 between Mexico, England and Norway! Here are the results from the game's against each other...

Norway beat Mexico (20-11)
Mexico beat England (25-23)
England beat Norway (30-12)

So, all teams have won one each against each other. Which then leads me to goal difference....

England +35
Mexico -6
Norway -6

That would say to me that England are through, but a play-off would be needed between Mexico and Norway, to determine who goes through, imho.

Unless you want to take the result of the match between the two, but i don't think Mex would be too happy with that rule Cheesy
