You have to admit King is second only to Ian Holloway for the funniest manager.

I mean come on their centre-half's gone down more times than my missus  -- comedy genius and there were gems like that all the time.

At the expense of some other cunting club, thank you.

It was hillarious, in between the slagging off Ifil / demonising The Town End / Pouring pity upon himself / looking like a fool with the rediculous hyperbole / contradicting yourself every 2 minutes. For every gem was 25 minutes of nonsensical fingers down blackboard tripe, with interjections of Sean Hodgetts saying erm, uh and OK.

In a word. Fuckwit.

Personally I much prefer a manager who says exactly what they mean and isn't scared to say what they think rather than one who says what they think fans want to hear but not what they think.

Ifil actually got as much praise as criticism.

Say what he thinks? Andy King didnt know what he was thinking himself. It was different at 4.55pm, 5.05pm and 5.15pm. You could take any quote you wanted off an Andy King interview.

As a football club you need to fight on ONE front. Andy King created more divisions than the San Andreas fault line through throw away comments that should never have been said.

Andy Kings interviews were the thing I most disliked about Andy King. They are what turned me against Andy King.

Quote
Its just one of those things- we just didn't do it. As the manager I take full responsibility for them- its my team and those players playing my tactics so I take responsibility for that.

Might be an unpopular view - but does anyone else think he is trying to win over the fans by showing that he is much better than King by making himself the complete opposite of what AK used to say.  Iffy's interview is a bit of an overreaction isnt it.

I don't agree, his interview style was a refreshing change from the 98% of managers who are unbelievaby dull. Most of the throwaway comments were nothing, they were just blown out of proportion and taken completely out of context.

BOLLOCKS! If anything he got away with loads of stuff that he should have been sacked for! The Adver did an excellent job of picking the more positive stuff.

Even Reg was saying he should have been sacked after the Southend LDV interview. Never heard anything like it. The blokes interviews were not acceptable. Dont try and justify or play down some of the things he said. In years gone by they were sackable offenses every last one. That was before a proud club could be held to ransom by a fool like King.

In my opinion King never said anything that should be a sackable offence or even close to it, the one thing that came across in his interviews was passion for football and passion for his job and you could tell how disappointed he was after any defeat and how genuinely thrilled on the good runs. So he said a few things on the spur of the moment, I didn't have a problem with that, showed he cared.

Again, delusion.

In hitting out time and time again King showed how he cared about himself a lot more than the good of the club.

No way, just showed the criticism was hard to take and it's hardly surprising, the amount of shit he got considering what he achieved with so little was ridiculous.

Sewed the seeds a long time ago. Your talking what was said in the aftermath of the Scum FA Cup game. Very nasty/childish/vindictive/unnecessary.

Fair play he did achieve after that. But if you turn people against you........ The knives will always be out. After what was said, he did extremely well to survive for so long into our biggest loosing streak ever in the football league.

I don't think King achieved that much tbh. He brought in some good players (and some bad ones) and given the resources this was brilliant. He did a very good job at keeping us up, although not much else

This is a debate about Kings interviews, not his tenure as a whole.
