I remember a Manager discussing the difference between managing at the top level and down at the bottom. He said that with the lower league teams it's all about repitition. The top players have the skill to do stuff and they can concentrate on the more technical stuff, but lesser ability means you train them to repeat things to avoid as many mistakes in the game.
Quite a lot of top ex players find it hard lower down to coach becuase of that.
That's usually the difference between £5.50 or £50.50 an hour in the workforce.
Not sure though, whatever your standard of your monkey grinding the organ is pretty much the same affair wherever you go.
Perhaps that’s where Merson is going wrong.
