Yeah I would. I loved little Jimmy Davis.

But I hope Oxford get livid when we sing it. I dont sing it cos Im sick, we sing it to wind them up.

Plus it sticks two fingers up to all the hypocrites who say we shouldnt sing it. Which makes me laugh. Il sing whatever I want!

And its a good tune.

Why am I a hypocrite for saying you shouldn't sing it?  I've never joined in.

I used to work with someone who was friends with Martin Aldridge and as such think it is beyond wrong.  There's much better ways to wind Oxford fans up mate.

Sort of. The 'your shit' and 'so are you' banter doesnt cut much ice. MA draws outrage and perhaps rightly so.

Like I said, its a sick song.

To be honest what it really does is remind me of the Town End 02-03 time. It used to below out in a drunken haze. So unpolitically correct and totally distasteful. Just to say, we are a bit loopy over here.

I like the song/miss the tune. I tried to think up some better Stfc lyrics for it before but failed.

It's a fantastic tune, no doubt, but revelling in his death is not on (I know it's not really doing that but to an outsider...).  It is sick as you say.

We should have a 'new lyrics' thread for it.  If we could come up with some new words to fit the tune it could become an STFC favbourite.

I'll get thinking.
