"I think we all knew he'd be shite there." I don't think that's strictly true.

Hoped rather than knew, I expected him to score a shed load, and inevitably get the winner against us as city cruised to finish just outside the play offs.

Id welcome him back with open arms, great player in my opinion, cant blame him for leaving really we all know what the board is like they ended up making shit up like they offered him a 2yr contract when they didnt. I personally know for a fact he left beacause Kingy didnt like him and he thought after 1 bad game he wud be binned.

I'd have him back no trouble. Beggars can't be choosers and god only knows we could use his goals and set piece deliveries. Let's not forget, he didn't choose City out of spite. It was a simple career move which offered him a better chance of fulfilling his potential than AK was offering him. Quite funny how it has turned out for him really! Not that much better was it Smithy?

I think we all knew he'd be shite there. Exactly PM. he went for money and we knew he was going to lose the form he showed here because he didn't have to play for a new contract!

He only seems to play well when his contract is coming to an end. He even said in one of his last interviews on stfc world that being out of contract at the end of the season "focussed his mind". I believe whoever it was who said that Smith would prefer to stay in City's reserves rather than play for us... just like he did for us, he does fuck all for one and a half years and then might have a patch of form when his contract is running out. Sitting on a two/three (?) year contract at City, Smith isn't going to pull his weight. He'll just sit around till his contract expires. So for that reason, would only have him back on a 3month rolling contract and I doubt he would eccept that.

Id have him back. Good man. I'd welcome him back with the state of our midfield atm Thing is with Sniff, he knew exactly what he was heading for. he came out and said that after drifting around clubs he liked having a regular spot, he appreciated the fans backing.....but when it came to cash he opted for that. Fair enough decision, but there's no way back after it. That's fair enough Reg, i agree that the guy is a thoroughbred cunt, but we would have been in better shape this season had he stayed. Oh well  Village - he was shight (shite) of the first order. That, Kingy had right. A collector of wages if ever there was one.

I don't agree with you there Mark. Never particularly liked him, he just had a shit attitude. I was the first to say I'd think he was an ungrateful cunt if he left in the post below and only Melksham Red agreed with me at the time but that's still what I think of him. Fact is Smith's played in 37 games this year, far more than he's played for any other team so far in his career, with the team doing so well last year I don't think he can complain too much about having limited opportunities then.
He'd not really done anything to show he should walk into our first team before joining us (2 starts for Sheffield United and a few loan appearances for Halifax and Clydebank) but as soon as he showed he was good enough he won a place in the side and has been ever present ever since. He should be fucking grateful.
If he stays he's a legend if he leaves he's a cunt. http://thetownend.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3334&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15It didn't offer him a better chance of fulfilling his potential, just more money.[/quote]
