I was reading about this I think they called it a Roman wave
He shouldnt have done it but I must say I always loved him as a player when he was at West Ham.

I watched this game on the TV....Di Canio was excellent he wanted it so bad.
Shame he didn't show a bit more passion when he played for the Wendys.
Shoving over Alcock was quality mind .

Lazio president Claudio Lotito defended Di Canio. “Of course he celebrated quite forcefully but he did so within the laws of the game,” said Lotito.
However Roma's sporting director Franco Baldini saw it differently.
“Mister Di Canio's behaviour stained a victory which his side had rightly won on the pitch. It was an incitement to violence,” he said.
Di Canio, who was a hardcore Lazio 'ultra' during his youth before joining the club as a player, has never made any secret of his political affiliations.
In his autobiography he said he was “fascinated” by Benito Mussolini and said the dictator has been “deeply misunderstood” and was “basically a very principled, ethical individual”.
within the laws of the game......i love the way two sides see things so differently  guilty your honour

Scored some crackers for West Ham. The Di Canio volly against Derby (I think) which was something like 70mph, and also the goal he scored against Chelsea from just past the halfway line was a classic

He may have been waving at Allesandra Mussolini in the crowd who's quite fit in a middle aged way.

Ron gets the award for best avatar.
He is a cheeky character though Paolo, I think if he had gone to Manchester Utd that season he would have had a stormer.
