Not really the point.
If the ball is in the net you don't give a penalty
If the linesman is signalling a penalty then you should atleast discuss whether to give it!

according to the newspaper reports this morning, the ref disallowed the goal & gave a penalty for handball - surely their man should he been sent off then!!! what a cock!
fallon didnt dive, he turned their defender who then stood in the way to block him getting past. made no attempt to play the ball. should've been a pen IMO. he had to go for the elbow though.
...will see it on footy league review in a minute.

Fallon did dive I had a perfect view of it.
I just like the way that once he was sent off, we actually started playing football and looked dangerous.

I didnt think it was a penalty but a booking was harsh .. and to be honest the defender made a meal of Fallons challenge on him
Beagrie was putting late challenges in all game and got away with lots of them .. until finally being booked
Billy Sharp was diving from the first minute but never got booked for it.
And to not give the goal and instead give a penalty and NOT to send off their defender was ludicrous .. has to be a goal scoring opportunity as we scored a goal!
Awful ref .. we did well to get the point under those circumstances

yes - I'm all for the ref playing the advantrage more, but when the team that made the infringement gets the advantage I fail to see how that helps much... just glad we scored really, when was the last time we actually scored a penalty - I reckon the last penalties were thorpe, cureton, smith and parkin, all missed

That decision by the ref was absurd to say the least, how you can disallow a goal and give a penalty is beyond me, I was spitting feathers when that happened.

Fallon deserved to be sent off....as Reg said he should have been subbed after the first clash.
Our penalty was never a penalty, we should have had the goal really.
Roberts and one of their players was tussling, it looked to me like their guy locked Roberts arm and dragged him away from the ball, the Lino started flagging I thought we were going to get another penalty....clearly not Our penalty was a blatant penalty but the ref should have had common sense.

I think we won 4-2.
