Female Talent Wanted!
ITV West's top-rated SOCCER NIGHT programme returns next month and the producers are hunting female talent for the new series.
If you - or someone you know - are female, supports any of the region's Football League clubs, aged between 18 and 30, and wants a start in the TV business then this is your/their chance.
Photographs and/or showreels (on VHS or DVD) should be sent as soon as possible to the show (address below), along with personal details, stating which football team they support, and why.
A shortlist will then be drawn up and in the New Year, each week on the show, this list will be whittled down to one girl from each of the four league clubs in the region - Bristol City, Bristol Rovers, Swindon Town and Yeovil Town. There will then be a play-off between the clubs to find the eventual winner who will then present items on the show.
"Women should be no strangers to the upper echelons of television sports presentation, and it's only correct that SOCCER NIGHT reflects the growing trend of female prominence by affording our viewers this chance," said Jed Pitman, producer and Head of Sport at ITV West. "Who knows - we may find the next Gabby Logan!"
Please send your photos or showreels to Soccer Night, ITV West, The Television Centre, Bath Road, Bristol BS4 3HG; or by email to

SOCCER NIGHT returns at midnight on November 3 presented by Jed Pitman and Andrew Lindsay with regular pundit Russell Osman and new boy Andy Thomson, the former Rovers and Swindon defender. It runs for 27 weeks until the end of the current football season. SOCCER NIGHT will also celebrate 50 years of ITV by hosting a show from each decade since the 1950s, using the channel's newly-invented time machine!
